“Early Days” Heard Museum

The Heard Museum in Phoenix, AZ is like home base for me as an artist, it’s been great working with them for the past few years. They are one of the leading Native Art Museums in the world, lucky to have their support.

“Early Days” is an exhibition from the McMichael Canadian Art Collection featuring northwest coast spanning both historical and contemporary art. The Heard asked me to speak and do a carving demonstration during the opening of the exhibit. It’s great to help people better understand the history and cultural significance of the art. I believe thru education, it brings a deeper understanding of these objects. I’m happy to help bridge this connection. Gunalchéesh to Dan Hagerty of the Heard Museum and Christopher Lomahquahu for the photos.

“Early Days” Exhibit now thru Jan. 2nd 2024
