THE SNOWBOARDER'S JOURNAL

The Snowboarder’s Journal Issue 21.4 is now available in print and digital formats. It’s such an incredible honor to have an artist feature in the magazine. I’ve spent just about a year working on this interview. Quick story, I really wanted to shoot the snowboard photos in my hometown of Juneau, AK, specifically on “Tlingit Aani” (our land). I was teaching Tlingit formline at Sealaska Heritage Institute last April. I brought my snowboard gear with me to AK in hope to get to shoot photos for this interview. One afternoon a weather window opened, and there were blue skies in Juneau (rare). I called my friend to shoot, Scott Baxter, and we booked a helicopter drop for the evening. I was done teaching at 5pm, and by 5:30 we were getting on the helicopter in AK! Really happy how everything came together for this interview.
